Thermal Insulation

A ComfortWall insulated cavity sets a new standard for comfort and cost saving, protecting your family from the extremes of winter and summer.

Manufactured from Rockwool, it has been specifically developed to fully fill and insulate cavity masonry walls. When installed, the reduction in heat flow through the walls can be reduced by 65%. This results in a more comfortable home and lower energy bills.

Unlike other insulations, ComfortWall delivers an installed performance warranty for the lifetime of the building.

Don’t trust just any product with your comfort – trust ComfortWall.

The Importance of Thermal Insulation in a Cavity Wall

ComfortWall Insulation is an innovative product that fills the cavity and provides numerous benefits, including improved thermal efficiency and energy savings.

Up to 25% of your home's heat transfer is through the walls. In fact, after the roof they are the largest surface area of your home!

Heat is transferred through the bricks and the cavity by conduction in a cavity wall. The bricks absorb heat from the outside and transfer it to the inside through the cavity. During the winter months, this can result in heat loss, and during the summer months, it can cause heat gain.

Insulating the cavity with ComfortWall Insulation reduces the amount of heat transferred, making it easier to maintain a comfortable temperature inside the building all year round.

To measure the effectiveness of insulation and heat transfer, we measure in R-values. An uninsulated 50mm double brick cavity has an R-value of 0.4, which means it offers very little resistance to heat transfer. ComfortWall Insulation, on the other hand, has an R-value of 1.3, which is more than three times higher than an uninsulated cavity. This means that the total R-value of a ComfortWall Insulated cavity wall is R1.7, which is a significant improvement over an uninsulated cavity wall.

All in all, this can reduce heat transfer through your walls by up to 65%!

What does a comfortable home really cost?

Lower power/gas bills can be achieved with ComfortWall, whether you are building, renovating or the owner of an existing home.

For new homes, whilst the Building Code of Australia (BCA) requires a 6-star energy rating, this minimum standard can be achieved with only the ceiling being insulated – but still result in power costs of $12,000 – $16,000 over ten years.

Research shows that ComfortWall reduces the heat flow through double brick walls by 65%, improving the internal comfort of the home by up to 20% – and greatly reducing the hours of heating and cooling each year.

ComfortWall can also be installed into existing brick veneer and timber framed walls, increasing their resistance to heat flow by 50-80%.

Just like your home, your investment into wall insulation should stand the test of time. Unlike “shiny” reflective foil insulation, ComfortWall performance is not affected by how carefully the brick layer installed the foil or daily temperature changes, drafts or loss of “shininess” caused by tarnishing and the accumulation of dust.
